It is that time of year again where twinkly lights filled the streets, jolly Christmas songs echo wherever you go, a sweater-weather day, and the season of gift giving. Have you thought about what to give for your special someone yet? Well, sit back, read and enjoy some of these few gift ideas.

It is certainly difficult to think of unique presents to give to your special someone. This does not mean you love them less, rather you wanted it to be special that you won’t settle for mediocre. There are only a few weeks left before Christmas, and it’s normal to run out of ideas. Don’t panic, I got just a few out of the shelves you can choose from.


1. QUICK GETAWAY

This may be a cliché, but it won’t hurt to surprise him/her with a 2-3-day trip away from the city. Take him/her to some of the romantic places where you can just drive up or commute like Baguio, Tagaytay, Batangas, Laguna, Subic and the likes. It may be cold for swimming, but those places sure have that cuddle-snuggle-weather where you can be intimate and just enjoy the moment that you two have. Though I suggest you reserve a room as early as today. Hotels out-of-town are quickly booked during the holidays.

2. RESERVED ROMANTIC DINNER 

You can make a reservation at a classy restaurant where you can dress up, and have a fancy dinner. You don’t need to worry about commute, you can book an Uber or Grab Car on you mobile. 3. 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

From the song’s lyrics itself, you can start giving your gift on December 14. You can start of from something small until the main event. If finance is your major concern, establish your budget first, how much are you willing to spend? Once that’s settled, decide on your gift’s concept... Say he/she loves to write, you can start of by giving a small item, a blue pen, then black pen, next a red pen, (complete the color if you want), after a sticky note, until the major item that you think he/she will definitely love, like a Starbucks planner, a drawing book, a calendar, and the likes. Or, you can start of by sending him/her an ‘I love you’ message via text, viber or email, then a back massage, after a foot scrub (all the pampering stuff), and maybe for the finale, you cook something special; your mother’s secret recipe.

4. SWEET STUFF

There are also great material things that you can give like a watch, a sweater, headphones, shirts or anything that he/she loves. Though it doesn’t have to be serious stuff, I remember giving my boyfriend a toy helicopter, he was so surprised. He loved it so much and just couldn’t stop playing it. There’s also a time when I gave him a WANGE LEGO where he had to build the Big Ben (it’s one of the places we wish to travel someday), at least I made him very busy. In case you’re wondering, I bought the Big Ben Lego at Toys R Us.

5. SEXY STUFF 

There are nice, and definitely naughty items. You can also play around with naughty stuff. How about giving sexy lingerie, undergarments, sexy movies, and other sexy stuff. Be creative.

6. HANDY CRAFTS

You can make pieces of artworks like drawings, paintings or a scrapbook where you store pictures of you together creating memories this 2016, it will be like a year book.

7. SERANADING WITH A TWIST

How simple it may seem, but being serenaded, whether you’re a man or a woman, will make you feel special and oh so loved. So, on the big day, why not sing one of his/her favorite songs, if you can play an instrument, then that’s even better, or do improvisation. But don’t play it that safe; dress up for the holidays. Put on a costume; as Santa, an elf, or a reindeer. Make it fun and playful, add some choreography if you can. It maybe inexpensive, but I must say “A” for effort, he/she will fall in love with you all over again.

8. LONG DISTANCE LOVE

LDR is hard especially during holidays like this. So, to keep things special, why not have flowers deliver to her home, or a box of pizza to his. Make use of the internet to get the contact number of their local stores. You may need to spend a little for a long-distance call, but just imagine the smile on his/her face when those things are delivered at their place.

9. DIY ROMANTIC DINNER

Surprise him/her by turning your living space into a romantic spot. Decorate it with Christmas lights, some wreaths and garlands. Maybe light up some candles and cover the light bulbs with some colored cellophane. Cook or order some food, and have a sweet and romantic music play on the background so you can slow dance to the music.

10. THOUGHTFUL NOTES

On the 24th of December, the moment he/she wakes up, place sweet and thoughtful handwritten sticky notes and set them to different areas where he/she can easily see them, then leave a piece of sweet (like a lollipop or a candy) beside every note. Just before Noche Buena, read to him/her your last handwritten letter, then instead of leaving a piece of sweet, you will be sharing the sweetest and most memorable kiss.
