The Manila International Book Fair celebrates its 36th year anniversary as the country’s biggest and longest running book fair. The event begun last September 16 – 20 from 10am up to 8pm at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex Pasay City.
The entrance fee cost PHP20, but there were participating bookstores that gave away free tickets beforehand. We got ours from Fully Booked; one ticket would already admit two persons and they were generous enough to give us extras.
My sister and I went to the event last Saturday, September 19, 2015, and arrived around 10am. Since it was a weekend, it was no longer a surprise when the venue was already jam-packed with “book-lovers” by the time we got there.
There were a lot of participating bookstores and publishing houses. The biggest one of which is National Bookstore, they occupied almost half of the allotted venue for the MIBF event.
The cookbooks section, discounted by 20%. Now who's ready for cooking?
Are cookbooks not enough? Let's try Food and Beverage section, also discounted by 20%!
OOOhhh!!!! Fancy Faber-Castell pencil colors!!
With Faber-Castell, you can pay someone to do you a face sketch!!
Nicely done Kuya!
Or if you want to try it, they have artsy section of colors, paints, coloring books and the likes.
They even conducted a small art workshop to teach you the basic techniques in drawing and coloring.
If a piece of paper won't prove an artist's point, why not use a wall-like canvass!!
This is so cute!!! I wonder if the content is similar to an actual dictionary.
HMMMM!!!!!!!
And there it was, after strolling and searching the entire store of NBS, we ended up with two pushcarts.
It did not end in NBS, there were also other stores and publishing houses that joined the event.
Fully Booked

There were other stores I wasn't able to take pictures of, but you have to give them around of applause for a wonderful event. There were so many activities, and seminars. Each store has their own creative schemes to attractive book buyers.
We only stayed after 1 pm because the later it gets, the crowded it becomes. So we went home, by commute carrying all these books!!!!!!!!!!!
What book will I read first? Hmmm......
